THIS IS NOT A CANNAL HARBOUR!
A harbour fee is required (2023: 280 sek)
It's good shelter for (>30Kn) WSW wind. The cannal harbour places oposite where suffering waves from the lake. (and all accupied).
2 meter depth is OK nose to the shore (depth indicate 1.7 but not touching bottom)

Relatively expensive for quality
>10m cost 350
For visitors no vinger berths.
Sanitary is poor quality:
- no sinks
- no bench in shower, nothing to place soap or shampoo, except on ground.
- need to use a shabby curtain as the shower is opposite where you hang your cloths.
- no washing machine.
- no harbourmaster, no ticket machine, can only pay by website.

Pro:
Very close to shopping mall, including big supermarket
Close to very well equipped boat shop. (Hjertmans Båttillbehör)

Access to the harbor from the main channel via buoyed fairway. First 1/4 is muddy, don't be afraid of your depth gauge. You can enter through soft mud with 2.2m, even if the depth reads 1.9-2.0.

You can call the harbor master in advance, he will normally allocate you a berth (piles) for your boatsize.
Otherwise you can (temporarily) moor at the jetty opposite the harbour entrance (report jetty) and the harbor master will assign you a berth.

Half of the harbour should reach shore by a manual operated ferry.

Bike can be used for free to go shopping or visit city.
Good facilities!

The access has been changed this spring (2023) from the West to the East side of the harbor!!!
This also means better shelter from all wind directions, the western location is now also protected by the dam of the entrance to the trade channel.

The berths for visitors are located at the back of the harbour. Fixed posts, not too wide (3.80m does not fit).

15 minutes walk to the beautiful city center.
Clubhouse manned by Pablo, can also serve you breakfast.

On West side 4 places with finger piers.
here is also a sort of cafe where you can get food & drinks.

On East side along the quay.
Here is the Verkstad museum.

It looks more cozy as the harbour on the Vättern side of Motala.

On very strong wind (>25kn) from West-SouthWest the waves could roll over the first concrete pontoon.
Then first pontoon is not nice to use :(

Next piers are wood/plastic, but normally not exposed to waves as the conrete 1st one should break the waves.

Pro: The width between piers is indicated by a sign (N.E. ones are 3.9m, S.W. between 1st-2nd are 5.6m or more)

Close to very nice city centre.
In front of the castle there are buoys.
Some places along the quay
Both based on dropin.
Further out there are boxes (rear poles) which can also be prebooked using the website.
